Carlyle Family poses outside by a brown wooden fence at Shadow Creek

Welcome to Shadow Creek!

We are the Carlyle Family and nine years ago we envisioned designing a beautiful year-round barn for weddings on our private 200-acre farm in Purcellville, Virginia. Shadow Creek came to life one year later and we hosted our first wedding in September of 2014!

Fast forward to today, and we have hosted almost 1000 weddings, giving us the unique opportunity to serve many couples, their families, and to form amazing friendships with hundreds of wedding vendors.

We are excited you are visiting our website and we hope that you will take the next step and inquire with us for your dream wedding date. We can’t wait to meet you!

Shadow Creek’s History

Our family has called Loudoun County home for seven generations, and forty years ago, Bo and I moved to Faith Farm in Purcellville to start our cattle ranching business. It has been the joy of our lives to raise our three children on the farm, working cattle, making hay, riding horses, and going on adventures with four-wheelers and dirt bikes; today, our two grandsons are following the same path.

Ten years ago, we had the opportunity to purchase the additional land that adjoins Faith Farm, and we knew we wanted to find a way to share it with others. In 2013 construction began on the barn you see today, and in the fall of 2014, we officially opened Shadow Creek and hosted our first wedding!

It is our greatest blessing to share this beautiful place with others and to have a true family business. Each of our children are involved in our adventures in different ways, through Shadow Creek, the farm, and our vacation rentals, Shiloh and Still Meadow Farm.

We can’t wait to meet you. You’re always welcome here.

“The venue of Shadow Creek is an absolute stunner! It is so beautiful and perfectly designed to host large weddings and events. The option for indoor or outdoor ceremonies is such a bonus and their flexibility in deciding up to several hours before is a real bonus (weather). The staff are beyond lovely—so easy to work with and so responsive. Our guests were nothing short of wowed by this venue. We added Gus the horse to our cocktail hour and he was a huge hit! We also rented their beautifully restored farmhouse property “Shiloh” the weekend of our daughter’s wedding which is right across the road from the venue—perfect for our family and couldn’t have been more convenient or wonderful! This venue is a hands-down winner in every way! Thank you Lori and staff for everything! It was everything we hoped for and more!”
