Fall in Virginia
Before we blink and arrive at Christmas, we wanted to blog this month about fall wedding design in Virginia, and specifically here at Shadow Creek. We say this all the time, we are not partial to any season because each season allows for some beautiful details, but we are asked most often for fall wedding dates and we want to provide a snapshot of what this beautiful season looks like at Shadow Creek.
It’s important to note, that if you are considering a fall wedding date with us, we encourage you to contact us as early as possible. Fall dates always book before anything else, with October as the most popular month to get married in Virginia in general. If you have your heart set on an October date, and it’s less than 6 months out, always email us to check and see if anything happens to have come available, or we may have a Friday or Sunday open as well!
Beautiful Weather
People often choose fall as their ideal wedding date because in Virginia especially it is a romantic and refreshing time of year. When the leaves start to change and the hot weather subsides, the leaves transition to gorgeous rich colors and the weather tends to be just the right temperature. Rain is always something to consider during the fall, but we built Shadow Creek to ensure that bad weather is never a problem for our couples, so in the event it does rain, you and your guests will still be comfortable. Fall is also a perfect time to enjoy outdoor activities such as making s’mores

Fall Design
This year, as with years past, we have seen some beautiful wedding details. Pampas Grass has been making more of an appearance in both ceremony sites and floral design. This ornamental grass is perfect for fall and adds some unique details to any design it’s incorporated into.

This year we also got to see the barn draped inside, and while that’s not necessarily a fall design only, it added a level of warmth when combined with a less traditional fall color palette of creams, and blush pinks that made the space feel magical and romantic in all the ways you want a wedding to feel.

Last fall we enjoyed the stunning color palette from Whitney & Jeremy’s wedding. Their ceremony design was stunning using traditional fall colors and the weather was perfect.

Of course, as we mentioned, if the weather isn’t perfect, we can always host your ceremony under the portico, or in the barn. Each fall we have a number of couples elect to do this and it’s a look we always love just as much as outdoors.
