Pantone 2016
Pantone 2016
Each year Pantone selects one color to highlight as the color of the year. A few months ago we gathered inspiration for the 2015 color of the year, “Marsala,” a deep wine that was the definition of romantic. With the start of the new year, we are already feeling inspired by the new Pantone color, or should we say, mix of colors – good job Pantone for spicing it up this year! A unique concept, these colors look just as pretty together as they do individually… and we kind of think it’s brilliant.
First up, Rose Quartz. Pink has become a centerfold for many weddings over the past few years. The perfect combination of femininity and romance, this color never disappoints in making people feel happy and beautiful. Rose Quartz is no exception to this rule. A lovely representation of pink, the color is soft and easy to work with, we had no trouble finding inspirational images for this beautiful hue!
The counterpart mixed with the soft pink is the cool blue, “Serenity.” The distant cousin of “Periwinkle” (if you will) Pantone has resurrected this purple/blue hue and we are not complaining. From Hydrangea, to bridesmaid dresses, to jewelry, this color is a whimsical complement to Rose Quartz. Please enjoy some of the inspirational images we have gathered. Fingers crossed we will see this beautiful color combination grace the barn in 2016!
